Midweek Bible Study

Weekly Bible study on a particular book of the Bible. Discussion materials and notes provided. No previous Bible study experience needed! All are welcome. Runs September – June.
Chelsea Bible Study Group
Tuesdays, 11:00 am

Weekly discussion of basic Christian beliefs and living our faith. All are welcome.
Meets at The Chelsea, 295 South Ave, Fanwood.
Women’s Study Circle
First Monday of the month, 12:30 pm – 2:00
Coordinator: Alice Kath
All women are invited to be part of this monthly study, prayer and fellowship group. Each year the group chooses a book or biblical theme to study.
Meets one Saturday each month, 7:00 pm

The Men’s Group meets each month for pizza, movie and discussion. Teenagers and men of all ages are welcome to join for friendship, discussion and fun. The group also helps with various events and mission projects throughout the year.
Moms’ Bible Study
Meets periodically in the church nursery through the week to read and discuss scripture passages related to parenting, relationships, and growing in our faith as Christians. Moms can bring young children to play or nap while we study. Check with Pastor Cynthia about upcoming dates.
Held in the spring at a conference center. Women of all ages are welcome to get away for a weekend of rest and renewal. A speaker leads discussions on ways to grow in our relationship with God as Christian disciples. The church newsletter will have current information.

Other Spiritual Growth Groups for Adults
Mondays, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Alexander Hall
Do you like to knit or crochet? Then join this group to make prayer shawls, lap blankets, chemo caps, baby blankets, sweaters, scarves and more for people in need locally and around the world. Whether you would like to learn to knit or have been knitting for years, this group is for you. Instruction is provided. A time to pray for others and knit together.
Willow Grove encourages all adults to be part of a small group for study, prayer, and friendship. Small groups meet in people’s homes or at the church at a time convenient for the group. Each group chooses a topic for study. The groups commit to particular number of weeks or months to week and then the group members evaluate whether to continue to meet. Contact Pastor Cynthia or any member of the session (board) if you are interested in joining a small group. New groups form throughout the year.
New Members Classes
If you are interested in becoming a member of Willow Grove Presbyterian Church, or just want to learn more about basic Christian beliefs and the Presbyterian approach to living out our faith in the church, then join Pastor Cynthia, elders and leaders of Willow Grove for the next New Members Exploration Classes. These are held after Sunday worship services for 2-3 weeks at various times throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a member contact Pastor Cynthia.
Medical Qi Gong
First Saturday of the month
10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Free and open to everyone, Medical Qi Gong is a course of meditation imagery that is being offered. Please be on time as once the class begins we will not be able to interrupt the session. Join us and become energized from the inside out and experience a more physically and emotionally balanced self.
Faith Kingdom (Sunday Morning Class)
After the children’s message in worship, young people to go to their group Faith Kingdom where they are invited to explore the Bible, wrestle with important questions, and learn more about living a Christian life. Adults from the congregation who enjoy engaging young people in discussion lead the class. A variety of curriculum and resources are used that help young people discover more about who they are and what it means to be loved by God.
For young people 7th – 12 th grade
Leaders: Bill Segulin and Pastor Cynthia
Meets twice a month after Sunday worship service or on Sunday nights at 6:00 pm. Youth come together for games, activities, discussion on relevant topics facing teenagers and service projects. Each spring the youth group plans and leads the Sunday worship service on Youth Sunday. Each summer the youth group goes on a mission trip to experience the importance of serving others as followers of Jesus Christ and to deepen relationships as a community of faith.
Sunday Morning Worship
All children in invited to sit with their families in the worship and participate in the beginning of the service as the sing, pray and experience God’s presence in worship. Then Pastor Cynthia invites them forward to children’s sermon about a Bible story or life question. Even adults find they learn something from the children’s message! Then children and young may leave for their classes.
Sunday Morning Classes for Children
Age 4 - 1st grade
This program includes video, computers, arts and crafts, cooking, games and music. Each month the class learns a Bible story through the Rotation Model of Sunday School, using a variety of experiences and activities. We even have a computer lab for young children where they can explore Bible stories. Each week children and caring adults come together to learn more about God’s love for us and the Biblical stories that give a foundation for a life of faith.
2nd - 6th graders:
This class offers the opportunity for the children to learn how to use and navigate
the Bible. They learn through games, puzzles and activities. And the class also can play the hand chimes or bells at special services during the year.
Summer Fun in the Son (FITS)
During the summer months, children of all ages are invited to enjoy fun activities related to Bible stories. As usual, children start in worship and then may leave after the children’s message.
Willow Grove Preschool
Our Preschool is vital ministry for children and young families in our community. Children of all faiths are welcome. The Preschool is rooted in the Christian teachings of Jesus’ love.

Willow Grove invites the congregation and community to come together for events throughout the year to encourage families to spend relaxing time together creating, learning and having fun. These events include
